Day 8 | 12 Days of Hope

Yanibel has grit and determination, and she has taught us lessons on living with Christ to the fullest. While she has been a teacher with us for three years, her first two years were spent teaching the kids inside the small church in Monte Verde. While the church was not the ideal setting for a school and the resources were very limited, she came everyday with a smile on her face and a desire to teach her students with her best efforts. Without formal training, she taught over 60 students between the morning and afternoon classes. Yanibel is a single mom who currently attends university to earn her teaching degree and works full-time at Hope Academy as an assistant in the special need’s (morning) and Pre-K (afternoon) classrooms. With all of her hands-on experience, we know she will be an excellent teacher when she finishes school!

We are thankful her daughter, Yarikeisi, has also been with us for three years as a student. After attending the school in Monte Verde for two years, she attends Hope Academy in the morning where she not only receives a Christ-centered education, but an English education.
