The Problem
100,000+ kids not in school
We know that every year over 100,000 children in the Dominican Republic are denied access to education. 8,000 of those children live in the area where we serve and 75+ are currently on a wait list to attend Hope Academy. We believe every child in the Friusa community deserves a chance at education, and we are determined to make that happen. Together, we can rewrite this story and provide education to all kids in this community.
Barriers to Education
Why are so many children in the Dominican Republic denied an education? The reasons are many:
- Overcrowding: Public schools are filled beyond capacity.
- Lack of Resources: Schools have insufficient books, supplies, and facilities.
- Need for Better Teacher Training: Teachers need more support and training to provide quality education.
Our “In Their Shoes: Stories that Connect and Inspire” campaign is dedicated to raising $20,000 to enhance our programs and ensure that every student has access to the opportunities they deserve.
